    I would suggest you get a spare water pump gasket as it is a fiddly bugger to fit, it keeps sliding off the pump when your trying to lower it into position lining up the bolts, what i do ( probally a cheat ) is fix the new gasket to the pump with sikaflex the night before, it makes reasembly...

    Get the best quality pads you can, the rear discs are 354mm, save yourself any hassle and replace the brake wear sensors at the same time....it's an easy enough job to do so go for the lot. If memory serves me right when i done mine, 4 new discs, new pads and sensors all round was about £250...

    As Bemble say's, it's not nessacary to remove the fan it just makes it a bit harder, having done the job a few times you will find removing the fan (should you wish to) the hardest job of all, unless you can get or make a tool which locks the fan bolts, allowing you to release the big securing...

    From the ones i have seen, the towbar assembly bolts onto the rear chassis legs, not ever seen one welded on, however your best bet may be to take it to one of your local towbar fitters who could get it up on a ramp to have a better look at it bob
