Hello All

I went to look at a local Rangey this evening and it seemed to have a small leak from the timing covers?

Any idea what causes this and the cost to rectify it?

The car had recently being in for a top end rebuild, well last year.

When the engine had the work done last year, where all the rubber gaskets replaced, especially the small grommett style ones on/in the camshaft covers, like all rubber gaskets they go brittle/hard in time and loose there sealing capabilitys.

Another possible cause is the top timing chain covers, not tightened down in the correct method with the camshaft covers (i found this out the hard way) and got a leak.

The gaskets are much cheaper buying from BMW than land rover.
