It was the universal joint on the front prop shaft on mine it was horible. Ended with a complete new shaft.

Would very much doubt it. would more than likely kill the rangy stone dead if you tried.

They are good, plenty of threads on here. Watch for the hot start issues. Simple fix though. Mine has been great since I installed the kit. Dont expect lighting performance the BMW engine runs sweet, but needs time to get to any speed.

On a morning I give the glow plugs 2 light ups on my 2.5dse. This makes sure it fires immediatley. Turn the ignition on until the glow plug light goes out, turn off and turn on again, once its gone out a 2nd time turn to crank the engine. mine then fires staight up. Have you tried this?

Hi. hot starting problems are well documented on here. There is a fix, which involves adding a timed relay and resistor to fool the ecu. But basically it is a problem that not only effects the RR but also the 2.5 bmw, and other cars with the 2.5 bmw engine.
