Could be the joys of oil and water mixing. Head gasket, craced block, oil cooler.

Could have let guck build up around the piston. could do as suggested and gently let the piston out and pull the gater bach and have a look. If your having problems with doing the pads maybe take it to a garage as you dont want mess round with brakes if not confident on what your doing.

Yes outherwise your trying to force piston back and in process building pressure. Make sure you push back gently otherwise can damage master cylinder
