Hi Guys, Thanks for the replies, yes rather stupidly I forgot to mention that it's a TDI200 (done 160k).

Rear shock mount has snapped off axle, what is my next move???

Now you're worrying me, my little focus has been top notch since I got it. 5 years now and all I've done is changed the tyres, fluids, filters and the brakes. I got in my mates Discovery 3 and it looked and drove more like a transit mixed with a focus than my landie - :D. I guess that is a good...

Rear shock mount has snapped off axle, what is my next move???

Blaaaast  I knew someone would have had the same problem, cheers for info Richard - I have a breakers locally so I'll try and get an axle casing from them. In the meantime I am (through determination) still going to try and weld the thing, just to see if I can pull it off. Pleased you're...

Oil light comes on under 1000 RPM

When my engine has warmed up and I drop below 1000 (basically when I idle) the oil light comes on, as I accelerate the light fades. I presume this is a pump issue. What should I hit with a hammer? :D Sorry for the bulk of questions tonight, but many many miles over the Xmas period have...

    Electrics help? Rear door linkage

My rear wiper, rear dimister, rear fog don't work? I have replaced the wiper motor and the fog light bulb, still nothing. All electrics in the door and in the light cluster look fine, is there any way of identifying which wires link to these near the fuses and switches under the driver console...

Rear shock mount has snapped off axle, what is my next move???

Just did a 1200 mile trek in my TDI200 - up to scotland, round scotland, back down and round the country :) . All going perfectly until I hit the M1 :( on the way back... the rear shock absorber mount (the welded part on the axle) totally snapped off the axle. I got it back to the garage...

    Defender Suspension

Very good point about the 2 inch lift, I have heard about this. I suppose my next question is - does anyone know how much a Defender 110inch spring and shocks kit would be lifting a Discovery TDI200 from it's standard suspension height (I know what more could I want???):D

    Defender Suspension

I need to get extra lift on my Discovery, every time I go out with my chums in their Defenders I bottom out (they have sooo much more clearance), but (as we all know) the car is costing me a fortune in many other ways, thus I'm after an affordable way of getting the height. Is it possible to...

    Damaged Diff selector linkage

A very very big man decided to force my stuck Diff Selector Stick (inside the Cab) to move when it was well and trully jammed. He got it to move out of HIGH RATIO, only problem is that now I cannot engage LOW RATIO (locking diff stills works in HIGH ONLY). I've re-aligned the multi-spline cog...

TDI200 - engine SHAKE on turn off

Wow, that was fast. Is this something you've seen before? Only interested because you're the first person to come back with a solid answer. My local (so called) mechy was incredibly shaky on solid answers!

TDI200 - engine SHAKE on turn off

<<I've checked through all the threads - but if anyone has already answered this; sorry for the re-question.>> My TDI200 shakes heavily after the ignition is turned off; it lasts for around 2 seconds and makes the entire car thud around. I have changed the exhaust system, checked the timing...
