hi mate, i had a similar thing with my 300tdi, started in a morning fine, just a little ploom of smoke, then cleared, and only when it was warm and i had been driving steady then backed off, i would notice a little smoke behind the disco, also as you say after ticking over for 10mins or so it...

.. as stated above, paddocks are the best place for tyres, also if you buy new rims, they fit the tyres for free :)

Tommorow we have a discovery 300tdi clutch replacement in our workshop. Im just fishing for a few tips if anybody has knowlage on what there like to fit etc? Weve orderd a oem clucth and heavy duty fork for the job, also going to replace the crank seal while we are in there. Ive been searching...

... fitted a new oem pump today and thats fixed it.

.. thanks james, the pump was my first thought with it been pressure related. but no harm in asking. no the sterring box is fine, no leaks, and not a deal of play tbh.

Could anyone tell me if they have had this fault before with the steering on there landys or any other vehicle fitted with a steering box. just started the landy up, symptoms were heavy steering, also a whearing noise as if its low on fluid, opend up the bonnet and the pas resivour is full off...

Thers no first aid, no camping etc, you just pay the land owner and off u go. Peak and dukeries hold there trials out there throughout the year, but when there not there its just a pay and play site.
