I ran one of my old series 2 with no front prop and no detrimental effect whatsoever, it can't hurt anything.

I had similar experiences years back on my old S2 Griff. If I remember correctly, there was adjustment via a threaded shaft with lock nut under an access plate somewhere at the lower end of my brake master cylinder accessible above the inner wing.

Nowt stupid about asking mate :cool:. When I had a V8 (P6) in a series engine bay there was a bit of bulk panel refabbing to do and I would seriously consider anything other than series drum brakes for anchors :eek:

Rot on a late series motor could be almost anywhere unless it's been looked after properly, just like any 30 odd year old motor. Main places in my experience are: 1. Front Bump stops, these are reknown for collecting crud and festering. Give 'em a soddin good firk and poke round the edges...

Measure the OLD one first with yer rear tub off. Take diagonal "Check" dimensions before you cut owt and work to these for re-assembly. Most importantly you will need to "sprag" the chassis rails to minimise movement before cutting out. Doing it this way enables you to get a good clean weld...

Yes it's legal, just enjoy it.

The Guy from whom I am getting my Disco has today told me that it now has an age related plate (M) the new V5 is through along with the replacement MOT Cert and Tax disc and his "private" Reg is now on retention. So we can now go ahead !!!! Next Saturdays the earliest I can do so I'm looking...
