    New head unit bought!

yup, complete indulgence. It ticks all the boxes in terms of functionality and the cost is about the same as fixing the current kit and adding bluetooth. I was told that all new stereos came with the iso plugs, so in theory all newer head units can work with the HK Clarion systems if this lead...

    New head unit bought!

Mike, P38. Glad to know someone has the lead working. Maybe I can get the loom seller to fix the issue if I get it too. Can't wait to get bluetooth in the car. I've had it in all my cars for the last few years and I won't use a phone in a car without it.

    New head unit bought!

My old Rangie has the Clarion/Harmon Kardon upgrade. Unfortunately it also has a broken display on the head unit. The cost of fixing this unit and adding bluetooth and iPod connectivity was pushing £300 and would have added a load of clutter to the dash and lost my steering wheel controls, so I...

I'd say 'hi and welcome' but I'm too busy trying to turn left. There's a peasant in the way.

Who to contact for account deletion?

I'm new here so I have no history with you, but with comments like these, I'm glad you're as far from me as it's possible to be. However, would you mind asking the hundreds of thousands of your youth to give London a miss when they feel that something is missing in their lives and that the only...

P38 retro fit traction control ?

strange that it wasn't on all four wheels. My old Audi S4 has a torsen diff, but it's easily possible to spin all four wheels in the snow. Lovely power slides :)

What have you done to your Landie today.

I checked the tyre pressures - what a massive difference! The wallowing over bumps has completely disappeared. Amazing to think that such a great car can be had for so little cash.

    Speed Limit 20 ????

I can't see how any new P38 owner can get through the first three months without being told to RTFM at some point :)

I suspect the problem is as much the size of parking spaces as the plonker parking in them. Cars have got bigger and spaces smaller.

    Dipping door mirrors when reversing

Since having a new battery, my door mirrors aren't behaving as they used to. When I put the car into reverse, the mirrors dip, as they should, but they don't return to the normal driving position when the car is put back into D. It may be both mirrors, or just the drivers door. Any ideas...

    Perishing hoses, Batman!

yup, the book is there. I was going to get the EAS stable and then look at the HEVAC next.

British automotive design at it's best! Classic!

    Perishing hoses, Batman!

During the EAS/Colchester disaster, one of the AA men went in search of fuses and took the panel below the steering wheel off (I did tell him there were none there, but his book said different). The air vent on that panel is fed air via a rubber coated tube: that tube has very little rubber...

    p38 eas

yes, mine still started but the problems started when electrical items kicked in. Get it on a drop tester to see for sure. Still does sound more like a leak tho. But I'm no expert - new here too. FWIW, I've had mine about 6 weeks and I love it. Some problems, including a 7 hour trip back from...

how is your battery? Mine had two dead cells and caused all kinds of bad readings from the EAS ECU. Does sound more like dodgy compression tho. Can you hear the compressor running constantly when the height is good?

What have you done to your Landie today.

yesterday, I washed it, polished it and put some oil in. That's all it needed. Then, I put £15 of petrol in - enough for 600 miles and drove it :D

    Agh - EAS complete failure

Been away this week, but I got time this afternoon to call into the garage to see how the old girl is. She is ok apparently. No problems with the suspension all week. She's been in and out of the garage every day with no problems. No leaks anywhere and no lights. The MoT was also due, so they...

    Agh - EAS complete failure

that's not too far from me. Yes, I'd appreciate another pair of eyes on it. Thanks very much! It was funny seeing the locals watching me bringing the car off the bumpstops one corner at a time :D
