What have you done to your Landie today.

Failed the MOT on 21 things, half of them are trivial and can be sorted without buying owt. Rest of them is a couple of days work, should be back on the road! Failing the MOT has sealed the fate of the 109, i shall soon be looking for a 110 to rebuild so i can take the 109 off the road next year!

No power going up from 3rd to 4th

Afternoon all, Got a problem on the 109 ( well not counting the 21 mot fails ) When i'm driving it, accelerates fine in 1st,2nd and 3rd, but go up into 4th and it looses all real acceleration and only manages maybe 35mph? I've just rebuild the head but it had this problem before the...

    The Sandringham Six

There is a Sandringham 6 on ebay at the moment, i'm tempted but it looks like a long term project and i don't know how practical it would be to run one as an everyday vehicle!

I had the slave sieze on mine, i stamped on the peddle so hard i bent the rod on the master cylinder at right angles!

    Timing chain

I did think the join looked abit dodgey, not surprising with some of the bodges on this landy! New chain it is then!

    Timing chain

It does not seem to be doing it like it was now, there appears to be now slipping as such, but i set the timing and after a few turns round i lined marks up and ep mark is 6mm off the pointer. I have noticed that where the join in the chain is it does not sit right on the sprocket. It leaves a...

Does anyone know the guy who restores Land Rovers near Kings Lynn

Reading something in the paper today, there is a guy in Clenchwarton who restores old Landies. If anyone has his number or address it'd be really handy. I've never heard of him before and hes less than a mile from my house apparently and he might be able to help me out with some parts i...

I can try in the morning, its chucking it down out there now!

    Timing chain

I presume you mean camshaft sprocket? That doesnt move in or out.
  18. B

    Timing chain

It looks to be all in line. I'll go get a pic of the tensioner. What do you mean by cam end float?
  19. B

    Timing chain

I'm puzzled as to what else it could be then? I could just replaced the whole lot of timing bits, i presume its got to be one of those bits that is causing it?

    Timing chain

Here are some pictures of the crank sprocket. Any more knowledgeable members think it needs replacing? I cannot really see anything else that would cause it to slip of apart from this being broken.
