Well replaced sender unit as nick suggested.Bypassed the sedimenter at the same time as the pipes into and out of it looked shot.Fired it up without priming the system and seems to be fine now.Thanks for everyones input.

I just bolted work lights through the gutter seam. If you take off the panel with the speakers in then pull back the door opening seal to ease that part of the roof lining away you can fish wires through after popping a hole in the outer skin.

That sounds like it might be the problem. I didn't know the injector unit had a pump in it so that's what confused me with fuel coming back down the return line. Looks lovely like a new lift pump and sender unit then to get it going might do the sedimenter bypass thing as well as that looks...

OK so got round to looking at it. Air filter replaced in July this year and looks fine along with all air hoses. I have replaced the fuel filter under the bonnet and the problem still there. On start up will idle then rev up and sit at 2k then slowly dies off almost stalling then comes back up...

Fitted similar units to a new audi recently.They are designed to present the correct load to the computer so as not to trigger the blown bulb warning.

I would suspect someone has used some form of leak sealant stuff in the system and that is what the white stuff is esp if you suspect the rad has a leak.

No simple terms are good. Seen much about this problem on here my question is can you tell if you need to adjust the preload by jacking the wheel clear of the ground and wobbling it like you do for wheel bearings

Have you tried disconnecting battery and leaving it for a few hours for everything to flatten down then reconnecting.Just make sure that you put the terminal back in one clean go if you get my meaning.

Question . Why when i put 3 bags of sand and a bag of cement in the back of my 200 tdi does it ride much better.All back poly bushed , shocks about 18 month old A frame joint is on my list (who with an L reg D1 hasnt a list ).
