Have you got the series clutch so that it mates to the gearbox splines, did you check the clutch slid on the splines before assembly?? Is the engine in line with the gearbox shaft? trying to slide it on at a small angle can make it almost impossible to line up. Take yer time, try and rush...

Fitted it about 2 months ago, got it from ebay it a Fairey one... Fitted a treat, new oil etc. gets hot over 20 miles,, what worries me is that its got 300 miles to do soon....

How hot does an overdrive get? Mine gets bloody hot, transfer box cooler and main gearbox cooler still... All have correct levels of oil in em, and she drives smooth and pretty quiet, there seems to be no 'drag' in the system as she freewheels easily. Is the overdrive getting hot...

If its an auto freewheel hub, then remove split pin and large castelated nut, washer and felt seal, hub will then slide off...

Yes mate, ignition on, charge light on, start engine charge light goes out, charge going into battery 14 - 14.6 volts when running. All as it should be. Wire to fuel solenoid comes live when ignition is on, and goes dead when ignition goes off.... But for some reason the engine does not cut...
