How many met up in the end?
We couldnt make it down on Saturday, so set out sunday morning for the Strat Florida. Had a wicked day, but rekon next time it needs to be an overnighter!
Welcome to the clunk club!!!
Mine also has various clunks... One when you take your foot off the clutch to quickly without matching revs. This as far as I am aware is the back lash on the props being taken up.
My other clunk is when i take my foot off the accelerator. This I am told is the...
Nice 1 for the overlays Red!! Went to Strata Florida on Sunday!! Was a great day, all be it a bit of a slog driving there and back in one day! Think next time it will be an over nighter!

My gearstick is exactly where the old one was! As you can see.

OK Guys are you ready!!
Here are the pics of my disco transplant! Using the engine/bellhousing/gearbox from a disco into my deepend!
I took these yesterday but was in a bit of a rush to go and play with my new powers!!
Ill just pop out and take a pic of my gearstick location!
I dont know exactly what was involved in making the disco gearbox fit the defender. But I do know the mechanic sent it to his mate and it was done in a day.
No worries. I went through the same hassle myself. I didnt do mine. Ive had a mechanic do it for me. But I will take some photos for you when i get it back tonight.

You are right about the gearbox from the disco. The leavers are different. But the guy who did mine swaped the "not...
Mine has just been done.
The mechanic has used the gearbox from the disco along with the disco bellhousing.
