What can it do that the nanocom or Hawkeye can't?

Hi All, My wife recently upgraded to a freelander 2 coming from the freelander 1. I have access to a hawkeye Total and nanocom but the key to the freelander 2 is quite expensive. However, the hawkeye does it anyway. Is the key for the nanocom worth the money?

For what it is worth, mine hisses when I open it and my cooling is most certainly working correctly.

Injector clean didn't help, issue is still persisting. I have other injectors, orings and washers to put in but the wife got hit in the back by a van. That stopped the work on the car for a bit.

No not by accident, more out of desperation. Lol

It doesn't smell sweet, it smells a bit sooty if that makes sense? We use redex on a regular basis, we have tried a more aggressive cleaner of which I forgot the name. I have also put a liter of petrol into the diesel once.

Thanks, We tried injector cleaner and that is not doing it. The smoke is only on start up and stops when it is running for a few minutes.

I say I will go somewhere local, they quoted me 30 euro per injector before (I live in Ireland) I saw the glow plugs were really cheap. Think I will do the lot while the weather is nice. LOL

Hi my wife's freelander 1 2005 td4 facelift is running rough on start up. There is some white smoke as well when just started. Breather has been replaced. I put it on the Hawkeye and as suspected the injectors seem to be way out from each other. Cylinder 1 = 1.7mm3 Cylinder 2 = -0.9mm3...

Yes, it was that easy the first time we did it. It is indeed suspicious it didn't go down after turning off ignition. As you say ECU is on the way. Would you trust it if it does all as it should?

Yep I see what you mean. Good thinking, doing that tonight with some spacer blocks for easy measuring. I have the idea that the main problem was switching between the two diagnostic tools. We just purchased the Hawkeye and I was too eager to play with it. I will calibrate again.

Fixed!!! I think using nanocom and hawkeye isn't advisable. Lol Use one of them and stick with it. I used the nanocom to check settings, transport mode was enabled eventhough I disabled it yesterday. Tried to disable and write settings but no joy it enabled again. Switched it off. Went to...

I plan to replace a few bits and bobs when I have it all working. They must have taken it out for reason. If I find the fault everything will be put in brand new.

We used a jack under the tow bar, lol The height sensors were still on the car, but I can see them working on the nanocom and hawkeye

That explains it, just ordered a secondhand one, so I can try if it makes a difference. There must be a reason why they removed the air suspension. Maybe this is why.

Is the SLS a separate ECU?
