    Exhaust Downpipe

They want that kinda money just to fit it???? Blimey. Lots of heat, lots of leverage and some hardcore brute force. Blast the bolts with some WD40 the night before too ;) Make sure you have some spare nuts to replace the old rusty items with too! Best of luck!!!

    Exhaust Downpipe

Did Tiny's last year (L series) and she needed lots of oxy persuasion and an impact gun to get the bolts undone. :( Found it easiest from underneath with a couple of extension bars.

    Groaning,vibrating noise :-(

Yeah - the IRD mount does sometimes go but these tend to me more on the K series than the L series. Worth checking also though - well noted. I will second what you said about getting the genuine support bearings - the non-genuine ones tend to be made of chocolate. If the brackets seem...

Go to the main dealer and ask for Top Secret part number TVF000010 ;) If they ask you where you got the part number from pretend you do not understand english!!!!:D Remember - You do not know me and I was never here ......

Hunting Idle when hot - L SERIES DIESEL

Thanks for the advice so far. WD40, soapy water, checked all pipes...everything okay. Clueless.

    Groaning,vibrating noise :-(

Sorry for the delay. If you get underneath with a spanner and undo your frontpipe bracket where it attaches to the IRD you will probably find it falls apart in your hands or has a huge crack in it. If this is the case Its cheap and easy to get a length of iron from B&Q, cut to size, drill...

Quality = keeping the VCU and prop assembly in the boot. I thought I was the only one who did that ;)

Magnets and the like? I did get some a few years back and ended up getting a refund as they did absolutely nothing!

    Groaning,vibrating noise :-(

So, at low revs you get this annoying humming, buzzing rattle comming from..let me guess - the nearside front area? If you floor the right foot it gets louder and seems to resonate more? Then as the revs climb it gets through the vibration range and goes completely higher up the rev range...

Hunting Idle when hot - L SERIES DIESEL

Right folks - update on Tiny. Filter replaced and economy still verging on the good side of amazing...ignore that though - dont want to "rectify" that "issue"!!! :D Checked all hoses, EGR has been blanked since day one and she still has a throbbing idle when warm. This does not happen from...

Hunting Idle when hot - L SERIES DIESEL

Well filter came today so will fit it later. So far 320 miles on half a tank...needle does move but only noticable in a matter of days rather than hours.. Mad as a box of frogs I tell thee! If replacing the filter sorts the idle and makes the consumption normal I may sell the old filter on ebay...

    Groaning,vibrating noise :-(

Does it seem as though you can "rev through" the vibration when you give it some stick as though it only occurs at lower revs by any chance?

Hunting Idle when hot - L SERIES DIESEL

Here's another strange thing too - she does not seem to be using any fuel! (good innit?) So far I have done 310 miles on half a tank and the needle has hardly moved... before you say it - nope - the fuel guage and sender are working fine (1st thing i tested)....lumpy idle I can cope with if I...

Hunting Idle when hot - L SERIES DIESEL

Cheers folks - will replace fuel filter at the weekend. EGR already blanked so not an issue but will check all hoses etc.

Hunting Idle when hot - L SERIES DIESEL

Hi folks... Tiny is back with a minor but irritating "feature". When cold she idles perfectly...starts fine etc. When warmed up the idle goes all chuggy and thrummy like she is hunting. Sat at lights and it sounds like she has a hot camshaft "Thrum, Thrum,Thrum,Thrum" No other symptoms...
