    How to test a turbo???

When you say "adjust" do you mean it's running lumpy or too slow / fast? The fuel pump shaft can sometimes wear which causes a surging (usually when you stop after "gunning it"..normally a Vroom Vroom Vroom then runs fine after that. Is this what's happening? No gagets fitted I take it?? Tiny...

    Brake Servo Compatability

Hi all. Tiny needs your help!! Her brake servo has developed a leak which makes a lovely whistling noise once the engine is turned off. Checked the pipes and grommit and the noise appears to be comming from the back of the servo itself. Does anyone know if a rover 800 unit is the same part as...

    Easy Peasy question

:) Greetings Tractor drivers. Quick and easy question for you from a gaylander driver currently having an alcahol fueled "discussion" with a works tractor driver. The question is thus.. Defender 110 on an S reg; Does it run as 2WD for normal driving? Be as articulate and technical as you...

    rear diff mountings; update!

As long as you're okay with those little metal puzzles you get in crackers then the front mounting is not a problem on it's own. Changed mine at 90k (ish) so should be due for renewal again sometime soon.....;)

    Servo Upgrade

Hi folks Just a thought as there is a TD4 brake servo going cheap on fleabay at the moment ;) but can anyone see ony issues with replacing Tiny's old rusty twentieth century servo with a nice chunky twenty first century TD4 item and would there be any increase in braking with the TD4...

What can be the cause ?

Thanks. My servo just does not seem to provide as much "umph" as I think it should. I have to really stomp on the pedal hard to brake heavily. No air leaks as far as i can find..everything else tip top... hmm....

What can be the cause ?

Not intending to hijack this thread but is there any way of increasing the power of a servo?

    Removing EGR

It all depends how well your EGR valve is currently working. If it's in tip top shape you should not notice a difference, however if it is all sooted up and not seating properly it should make a subtle but worthwhile difference. Try pulling the vac pipe off and see if there is any difference.;)

TD4 sump guard solid nut removal

Tiny's were stuck solid so i used a torque wrench with a scissor jack underneath (to push it on hard) and a bar over the end of the wrench to get the leverage. A ton or two of landy holding the socket onto the nut sure did the trick! :D

    More oomff

Rover-ron is deffo the man to see. Best mods for little cash also have to be blanking the EGR and releiving the Cat of its innards. I noticed a HUGE (and I exagerate not) difference after these cheap and chearful mods especially mid range torque.:)

    k&n airfilter on a TD4 (03)

You must have had fun on the rolling road getting the 135 BHP figure. Did they jack the back up or did you throw the lump onto a chassis Dyno? :D Or was that just a figure off the top of your head? (In which case Tiny has a zillion BHP and a trillion lbf of torque ;) Personally I rate K&N's...

    prop shaft gator

discontinued? Yeah right - I got one last year (unless they only stopped em recently??) Never used the folks on the link but if they have em then I think I would be clicking "buy" and paying my money. Rest safe in the knowledge that the main stealership aint getting a penny out of it - that...

    Cambelt

Hi bud If memory serves me correctly you are over-due for a cambelt change. I seem to remember it's somewhere in the 80k region but worth checking with your dealer (I change Tiny's every 45k to be on the safe side). Easy to do? Depends on your tech ability really. Its a bit awkwawd and...

    prop shaft gator

This should provide you with everything you need to renew the front joint and gaitor...by memory i think it retails around £60 at the main stealership.:)

Help and advice with my first Freelander

Hi Andy Tiny is an old L series diesel XEDI and has clocked up 165000 miles so far so keep the cam belt up to date and change your oil and filters regularly and you should have yourself a good reliable motor there.:) I also had the cubby box problem from new - it does tend to be caused by...
