If you crawl under the transfer thingy, you can get someone to wiggle the diff lock stick and you can see things moving. Also, to get to the low ratio linkage things, I took the middle seat out and opened up the panel below which a gave a nice clear view, but I think the diff lock rod is further...

I took out that panel and its exactly where I needed to be, as its not the rod thats broken. Its the clevis thing that has sheared off around the rod. At least it is easy to access if I ever do need to change to low ratio before the parts arrive :P

Well I picked up a 300tdi today! A very nice 110 with a lot of work put into it recently. Only hiccup was the high-low trasnfer rod thing snapped on the test drive! The seller and I played about and got nowhere after an hour. Mecahnics came and put it into high ratio within 5 minutes. I swear...

I'm pretty sure you could get a very tidy 300tdi for less than £5k, then spend any extra money you have on making it really nice to what you want.

Things break faster than I can fix them. Got new wheels, waxoyled, changed engine oil, greased prop shaft, had the dash off to sort electrics a few times, sorted the carb... (the list goes on) But... exhaust has holes, everywhere including under the carb which is blowing into the air filter...

I second this, I'll be able to afford the petrol :D

You can hook up a Raspberry Pi to the electronics fairly easily, and then you could write up some code to read and record data for when (or if) she fails

I know this isn't a great help, but I've just put some 235/85r16s on my old 90 with no problems. I don't know if you can go much bigger without any rubbing

Something in the carb is sticking, the fuel valve thingy, I don't know the proper terminology, so a wiggle sorted it out for a bit. It was working alright but its gone back to being **** again. I'll give it another go in the morning before the last resort.... borrowing a Renault Clio :puke: And...
