tbh, when I did mine, I put the new one into the multiplug at the back of HEVAC, easier to take the center console off than fight behind the pipes trying to splice in at the motor.

yep, clear silicone around those, and while you've got the stuff in hand, pop a blob on the screw as well. just eliminates that as a point of leak

I just run some silicon sealant round mine when I do them. Pays to put a blob on the screw head just above (on the windscreen side of the covers) as well, as I had that leaking (as have other members on here).
