Tarting up the spare wheel brake light arm thingie bob...?

Nice project. Are they captive nuts on the body, or have you had to take the trim off inside the door. Spotted one at the local breakers last week, so might pick that up tomorrow and prep that instead of dismantling mine first.

    Filter identification

Turbo filter - Should be open at the bottom and not connected to anything. Very cheap to buy so doesn't harm to change it regularly.

    Orange Freelander 2 ?

Pretty sure it's called Tambora, but I don't think LR make that colour anymore? Bit Marmity for me..............

    Freelander 1 TD4 2006

The seatbelt light on my facelift has never illuminated either. Don't think they do in the UK. Not sure where you are located but the US maybe different. You will probably get more replies by posting in the dedicated Freelander section, but members on here usually like an introduction in...

    Tax disc

From a recent Auto Express article; Drivers paying in monthly installments from their bank accounts will be subject to a 5% surcharge on top of the road tax price itself. That’s less than the 10% that’s added when you pay for six months tax, an option currently used by 23% of motorists. Only...

    wipers

Quite a common problem (Wipers stopping at the non parked position) Will either be a faulty wiper stalk or relay, but more likely the potting resin has cracked and water is tracking across the terminals. The fix is well documented on here, but I replaced the motor on mine with a £10 2nd hand...

RR P38 For Spares or more likely Repair

Your link doesn't actually take you to the RR on ebay, but I presume you are referring to mine? I did kind of explain the reason for the "overprice" above and stated that my son does not expect to be offered anywhere near the asking price. But you never know with ebay - All sorts on there!

RR P38 For Spares or more likely Repair

Yes, I accept that it is a bit high. It is actually my son's car which I used for traveling to and from work. He has spent an awful lot of money on it and I think he was hoping for an enthusiast to spot it and make him an offer, which he knows will be a lot less than his asking price. I guess...

    No brake lights - 2004 TD4 auto

Don't have a Freelander auto, but the Ford and BMW auto's I have had in the past have been able to do that with no harm done.

    Electric window problem fixed

Good to see a post like this.............Too many occasions lately where a new member posts a question, gets an answer and that's the last we hear of them until they have their next problem. :welcome2:

    Rear Door?

Mine can be the same. Works fine for weeks, then plays up for a few days, then works ok again. I find a repeated gentle tap around the lock area tends to do the trick, or just repeating the opening action until it "wherrs" back into position. I have searched this before and I am pretty sure...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Oil and filter changed. Halfords 10-40 Semi-Syn(Buy one get one half price on 5 ltr. at the mo) The sump plug washer in the Mann filter from Euro parts was too small, so had to improvise with a spare I had in the toolbox. Then changed the air filter and couldn't get the hex bolts at the back...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted new discs and pads. No squeals as yet so the coppa must have gone to the right places. Ordered oil and air filters for next weeks project.

    Disc Replacement

All done with no dramas. Just over 2 hours to complete and your info on how to tackle this one was invaluable. I would post pictures of the rusty crap that I took off, but I am far too embarrassed and will not leave an essential job like that so long again!

Freelander 2 S or GS model

I had a new FL2 in 2008 (Kept it for 3 yrs) and chose the GS over the S as the terrain control is well worth having and is not the only difference between the models. I cannot remember what extras I had, but I know I preferred the GS. Besides, you can leave the GS badge on the back...

    Disc Replacement

Many thanks for your replies. Calipers off, lots of cleaning and a bit of copperslip in the right places before re-assembling. Should get me out of shopping duties for a few hours.....:) Wonder how long I can make an oil change last next Saturday?

    Disc Replacement

I have had a search and decided to tackle replacing the discs and pads on my 54 TD4 tomorrow as it doesn't look to difficult. Just one question before I start, can the discs be removed without the complete removal of the caliper? ie; just swung back out of the way and supported. Cheers.
