Since i put in a K&N air filter i can faintly smell petrol on the over run. Im not overly concerned but can only think its the filter . Any ideas.

I like the defender, i had a 90 with disco seats and a BMW 328i engine, it was fast and comfy but i couldnt do with the " window all the way down " or the " window up and the praying mantis position " unless i just have big elbows.

Ive just done a 220 mile round trip to the east coast today (withensea, wont be going there again) and my arse is killing. Do all the freebie seats have such poor padding or do the upmarket leather seats cosset you a bit more? My seats are the cloth ones with a dodgy patern that looks like...

Best to get just the replacement k&n panel filter, it works great with the original air box and this way you dont suck in any hot air like you do when you remove the airbox and just stick a filter on the end of the inlet tube.

I put a K&N air filter in my freebie today and with my de-cat pipe on the transformation is fantastic. She pulls great in every gear and spins round the rev counter really fast. Ive had my douts about the car but now shes a keeper.:D :D :D :D

I dont know about your front end noise but my freebie did that rumble/knock in the tunnel area and i replaced the propshaft bearings. The rubber doughnut gets baggy and the prop moves around under load.It cured mine.

After i fitted my new exhaust at the weekend i thought i would take a look at the old cat, so i cut it open with a grinder.What a state it was in,its almost completely blocked with soot so theres no wonder the car was so slow before.I wonder if this causes enough back pressure to blow a head...

Im trying to find a cat bypass for my 99 1.8 freebie and the only one i can find is for a diesel 97/00. What i want to know is ,does the diesel exhaust have a larger bore than the petrol.Any help would be brill.

I really like my 1.8 freebie but boy is she slow.The brakes are free, the vcu is fine but she really struggles to get to 70 up the slip road and ive never got her past 85. Are they all like this or have i got a lazy one.

My 99 t reg freelander has five spoke alloys with 195/80/15 tyres.the hand book recomends these but would 215/80/15 go on as i think the present tyres look a bit skinny. Thanks:)

When i had my V8 disco i put colway mud terains on it, a bit noisey but unbeatable for the price. Has anyone had them on there freelander and what did you think.:)

The second outlet dosnt go any where on the petrol model.Ther is a rubber seal between the tank and the pump which in my experience can perish and leak when the tank is full.

Anyway, is it possible to drain the tank without removing it,perhaps some kind of siphon or pump and just wiping the inside of the tank through the pump hole?:confused:
