The early freelanders were especially crap wi the heaters, so i would say that is the problem..if ya want you could give the whole system a flush through..might help..keep us informed , as i have been thinking of giving this a go..

That could be the problem..only 4 miles per day!!..prob still running on the choke...
How long have you had the motor?
And has it been worse since the weather has been cold?
Also is it getting up to full operating temp on your journey?

I think i read somewhere before that it takes approx 9 miles to recharge the voltage used in starting a vehicle..and that was under normal weather conditions.

Mine showed Green in that window an all...but its worth a check.
Fingers crossed for ya..especially if it is that and its under guarantee.

Real shot in the dark here, but is the battery ok? I had some starting issues on mine and it turned out to be the battery, even though it was only a year old, and also it didnt give the usual woo, woo, woo of a low battery.
I tried one from my friends car as a first test and guess what...mine was...
I think if you take off the rear silencer, ( as some have to stop it being knocked off ) you can fit, what used to be called a Cherry bomb type silencer, bit noisy but not illegal.
Google it to see where you can get them, they used to be a universal fitting an all.

Try changing the fuel filter,..if all else is ok as you have said.Sounds like a fuel feed problem, and could be a bit of ****e in the filter..im sure this has been on here before and that was the problem.
