I have had the same problem with fuel gauge, it's probably down to a bad earth connection on the back of the gauge. Took the instrument panel off, cleaned the connections up and that sorted it. Multimeter would be helpful, are you sure that the battery is fully charged?

Isn't the fill level of the expansion tank above the waterpump? Have you checked that the thermostat opens?

A box in the battery compartment? Sounds like a relay, do you have a photo of said box? t'internet suggests that box in battery compartment may be summat to do with aircon, or alarm.

They are good for if you accidentally get yourself into somewhere where you need a winch. Don't go looking to get stuck if that's all you've got though, it's not gonna be much fun having to pull your disco out with it

Would have thought for that budget you can get a reasonable 200/300TDi 110? As said, take someone with you who knows what they are looking for. Buying a land rover (or any car) of that age can easily go wrong, you don't want to end up finding out it's rotten a few months down the line.

IIRC there's actually 2 places you can fit it. At least there is on a 300TDi, i've got no idea what engine you're on about! Just google land rover egr blank and you'll see where it goes.

Generally custom made, also normally attach to the A and B hoops of the roll cage. What about just getting some series doors that you can take the tops off, they often come up quite cheap on ebay.

Did you not crack the wheel nuts before jacking it up?

Get some irwin bolt extractors on it. Also if you are going to be doing the water pump yourself then try to use a hex socket on the water pump bolts, not a 12 point socket.

Make sure you either get a new gasket as well, or some decent instant gasket.
