Does it happen with the wheel in the straight position or at full left or right lock? Mine does is at full lock with the engine off, other wise it is fine whilst driving, which is where you want it.

I have the V8i auto, it is brill, always had manual cars but in the disco it is great for town driving and driving down country roads/lanes having an auto box. my vote would be for the auto.

You might be supprised and find that one of the spiders on the prop shaft has gone and it is moving around in the joint, my friend had the same, cost him £250 for a new front prop shaft, so get it checked out before it does break.

The great thing with 4x4's is that you get further in to the ****e before realising it. The great thing is trying to get out ot it!

I hope it does not go as it is a bitch to replace the lock, it has snap off bolts to attach it to the steering column which you has to take a chisel or centre punch on to try and get them out. mine took 2hrs and cramp in the hands, not from what other people might say!

If it is juddering, then check the steering damper, panhard rod and radius arm bushes, also check the pre-load setting on the swivel pin housing.

Has anyone done a DIY change of the panhard and radius arm bushes with out taking it to local lady guy that has a hydraulic press to get the old ones out and put the new ones in. Also the hynes manual says to disconect the track ball rod, is there an easy way of doing it with out the landrover...

Having to replace my LH seal and finisher due to a naughty monkey at Longleat park taking a liking to ripping them out :mad: , will have a look to see if rust has got behind the seal. it will be a fun hour trying to get the window out and putting the new seal in, not going to longleat monkey...

Went to get the bushes today and will get the preload checked to see if there is play on the swivel. so will be interesting to find out.

That sounds about right, will get get around 250-280 miles on a full tank with about 10-11ltrs left in the tank, not good if you want to safe money or the price hits over £1 per ltr lol. :D

Does the Diff lock light on the dash board illuminate? some times letting the vehicle roll a bit might engage it, might even be the level of transmission fluid in the transfer box.

The bushes would be on the radius arms and panhard rod, mine is the same, on a V8 petrol "K" discovery, I have replaced the steering damper which sorted the problem out by 80% but it is still doing the same as the other posts, so need to buy some bushes and get the local guy to fit as it need to...

It sounds like the window regulator, the cog is half moon shape and normally is atttched to the window motor to raise and lower the window.

It all depends on the model, condition and mileage, i would like to get that for my 3.5 V8i '92 (K reg) but i dont think i would, it is not even in the dealers listing book. :)

Yella, I take it when you say the bushes are "shagged" you are refering to the Bushes on the panhard rod and radius arm? if not what bushes are you refering to as my disco is doing a similar thing, having replaced the steering damper it has made the problem 80% better but not the whole job.
