    changing defender headlights

I used Busters guide for this and it was very easy! (cheers Buster!).

Is a Defender wider than a Series 3?

Series doors dont have any trim panels so there seems to be more room to move around. Maybe that is the difference in some cases?

Slam the drivers door and the engine stops!

Have you removed the battery recently? If so, check that the battery connectors have been tightened properly.

    1500 miles/year. 200 TDI or 3.5 V8?

Definitely the v8! If i just wanted a very occasional toy I would get a v8.

    Dilemma!...2.5n/a or TD5

2.5 n/a is supposed to be pretty slow. You could fit a 200tdi in it if its a good base landie? It depends how far the North Yorks Moors are from you. If they are a long way a 2.5n/a could be tiresome. Otherwise, if it is just short journeys it might not matter and the simplicity of the n/a...

Replacement moulded front seat base cushions

I got the exmoor trim ones and they are very good. They look the same as the ones on your link to me. I changed the seat backs too and it gave far better support for my back. Watch the exmoor trim fitting guide on youtube... it really helped when I did mine.

    New toy !!

Looks awesome. Very shiny! Never seen that colour before.

    Drive slope

Could you chock the wheels that are higher up the slope to stop the landie moving and use 2 stands at the other end and then have a strong jack under it as a back up? If your drive is tarmac it might be worth putting the stands one something strong and wider to spread the load so they don't sink...

    110 pedal lock

The Ardcase seems very good quality and solid to me. Used in conjunction with other security measures it will be a good start. I havent actually seen one of the Shirefabrication ones in the flesh though so can't comment on the comparison.

    LR service specialists in Bucks

I had some work done at the Old Dairy Garage in Tring. They don't specialise in landies as such but they seem to do a fair bit on them and I was pleased with the service I got. It seems a good old fashioned garage....... might not take a brand new Range there for example....

    Greetings!

Thanks Boris. It was in Hertfordshire, near Hatfield I think. Just after a ford on one of the greenlane routes noted in one of the landie mags.... To be honest I cant remember exactly where as I wasn't navigating.
