So has mine had a thermostat mod or not?

Right, crikey, wish I could do it myself but alas, it aint ever going to happen. I'm guessing it's going to be a good couple of hours labour at a specialist that knows what they are doing? It's been down to here many times in the past according to its history, so that's where it'll be going...

So has mine had a thermostat mod or not?

Oh right thanks, now I'm concerned! So how much is it to get that fitted by a reasonably trustworthy mechanic or should it be a specialists job? Just to confirm though, could it of had any other thermo mods anywhere else not visible in tha pic?

So has mine had a thermostat mod or not?

Had a look, and I can't spot anything like that so here's a pic looking from above.

So has mine had a thermostat mod or not?

Right, thanks, I'm off outside in the dark with a torch to have a look right now.

So has mine had a thermostat mod or not?

Ok, so I'm fairly good to go with a few 12v leccy connections and simple spanner and screwdriver jobs but when it comes to looking under the bonnet it all gets a bit blurred. I've been told my 1.8 X reg late 2000 ES has had a good to sensible amount of dosh spent on it by past owners and it's...

    Hands free kit in radio

thanks for the info, quite interested in this. So what extra bits did you need? And if you have steering wheel controls does it work them?

    Jumpy bumpy cd changer!

Ok, so a standard 6 disc changer under the passenger seat in a late 2000 ES. All good as long as the car doesn't move but as soon as it does then the slightest tiny bump in the road makes the changer jump. A common problem with cd players in cars but this one seems a bit too sensitive and is...

    Front bar bulb replacement?

Ok, done a couple of searches but can't find anything on this. My passenger side main beam spot has failed and I'm wondering how I can replace it and with what bulb. I can't seem to get behind it anywhere. It's like the one in this picture that sort of connects to the nudge bar. A Stunning...

    Leaky rear door seal..

I've got a leaky seal as well, and yes it seems to be about halfway down each side, especially on the door hinge side. But I think the water actually starts it's journey from above, around the plastic seal between window and bodywork, the long one from pillar to pillar.

spare fob & key required- HELP!!!!

My local auto key place have ordered me two duplicate keys with programmed transponders within for £60 each. Fair enough I thought, I'm guessing he gets them from Land Rover with some sort of bulk buy discount at some point in the buying system. I also didn't find any normal locksmiths that...

    WARNING: FREELANDER SPARES VCU's

Ok, so as a newbie here to a quite nice 1.8 late 2000 xreg ES on what I now understand to be an amazing 86k, can someone tell me how much it would cost me to get a local mechanic to get the VCU off and on again? In between that I'll be posting it off to the great Bell Engineering. I'm guesing at...

    Alloy Wheels

Ok, can I butt in here, seeing as you people are in the know. At some point I want to change my LR standard 5 spoke 16x7 alloys for the LR standard Sport 9 spoke 17X7. Is this possible and how much hassle is it to do? I'm guessing a second hand set of those are like rockin horse poo...

    Extra 12v socket on dash?

The extra socket will have a Griffin flush fitting dual usb adaptor within it, so at most maybe an ipod/phone etc at the same time. No 1000w invertors, not yet anyway!! I chose the Griffin rather than the Belkin because the Griffin has no wiriting on the face so looks standard, but the Belkin...

    Extra 12v socket on dash?

Excellent info from everyone, thanks a lot. The centre console option seems a sensible and easiest option, thanks markyzs180. But, I already have the rear power socket so will I be drawing to much power if I connect up to that connection? Also, what's to stop me doing the same off the front...

Very kind thanks, very handy to know. If I don't use that for the subject in question I'll be using it to wire a sub or something else.

    Extra 12v socket on dash?

Yea, had thought of that but getting fussy in my old age. It's a 12 year old car but it's in near mint condition so I'm trying to keep as much as poss standard and tidy looking. Respect to the Freelander!

    Extra 12v socket on dash?

    Extra 12v socket on dash?

In fact I'm not totally sure it is a knockout or just somewhere the switch would have been fixed to. Anyway, think I'll go down the permanant live connection to the interior fusebox unless someone else can advise on how to get through the bulkhead which doesn't involve a drill and lots of...

    Extra 12v socket on dash?

Sorry, I'm confusing you by saying dash. I mean right over on the other side between the passenger door and the airbag. There is a square knockout for presumably a lhd mirror switch? I'd look myself but I'm not entirely sure how to knock the knock out out without breaking it!!
