    HD Rear Coil Springs

I did the same thing. Replaced the rear springs on my 90 for some HD ones. I used genuine parts ones. About £50 plus fitting from a local garage. Not much in terms of lift, but certainly that bit stiffer. Should be much better for carrying loads. Adsey

    How long will it last

I might have to try that! Thanks for the advice. I'm just starting to perfect the art of matching engine speed with road speed. Eliminates most of the crunching.

Is the Defender any good for the city?

The low gearing helps with city driving And as it's a Defender you don't get attacked by the anti 4x4 mob as much!! Adsey

    £3000 special injectors for a td5

Never heard of them! Td5 injectors are expensive, but not that much. If it's under warranty and they'll pay, let them try it.

Will standard height, heavy duty suspension increase the ride height of my 90?

I replaced the rear springs on my 90 ht with the heavier duty ones from the station wagon. The rears a bit harsher going over speed bumps, but I think the handling's improved, definately less lean in the corners. As for ride height, there is a slight raise, about an inch probably. In the end...

    How long will it last

I get the clunk when the clutch is let up quickly, I understand this. I don't understand why it clunks when I depress the clutch to change gear. Also what causes the clunk when the vehicle is stationary, and I depress the clutch a select first, as I select first theres the clunk even...

    How long will it last

My Td5 90 has done 57000 miles. I'm guessing it did some towing (unknown how much and what) before I got it because it had the worn syncro in 2nd. Now it often crunches into 3rd. Also are these symptoms of a worn mainshaft Clunk when selecting 1st to move off Clunks when depressing the...

    anyone got a td5 90?

juddering in first and second gear td5

If the clutch is completely DISENGAGED how are you moving at all !! Mines a 2001 td5, there is some slight juddering if your not used to the throttle response, but not as serious as you mention. I'd go with muddythelandy on this one, prob a contaminated clutchplate. What happens if your...

    Thinking about getting a defender?!?!

Hav to agree as well. Def90 Td5 isn't the quietest, most comfortable, economical etc. etc. But you won't want to drive anything else.

    power steering noise defender 90

My 01 td5 makes that noise, also only on the spot work. Checked the fluid level etc. all fine. Been making it for while now, no noticable problems. Let us know if you find out what the noise is, cause mine will prob be the same. Adsey

Even more annoying questions by me :)

My mum won't get in the Landy with me, and I've recently passed my test. She hates the thing! My dad's the complete opposite, leave the keys lying around and it's gone. Drove it into central London one day without me knowing. Who you planning on getting insurance with? I'm with farmer's...

Even more annoying questions by me :)

you should get a decent tdi for that money, and a reasonable td5 HTop. A reasonable td5 H Top would be a great starting point as something to customise/improve. First thing I did, was stick some windows and some seats in the back. Adsey
