Thanks, yea, it's the rear fuel tank, which rests on a folded metal sheet acting as a cradle and flimsy guard - I'm building a 90 with a TD5 rear chassis to take a TD5 rear tank.
I ordered the metal cradle thing from Land rover and after waiting 3 months they told me it wouldn't be coming till next year, so I went out and bought a galvanised heavy duty replacement.
Before I fit it up I need to know if the version it's replacing is attatched underneath the bits of chassis that hang down especially for the 90 rear tank, or if it sits ontop and kind of within these bits.
I'm assuming it's fitted from underneath to the underside to allow for easy replacement of tank fittings etc, but also this being land rover, that might not be the case - as it would be sturdier if the fitting fitted on top of the upper side of the drop down chassis parts.... confusing myself now!
and close up shot of the bits of chassis that hang down from the arched rear part, and support the tank would be spot on and ideal.
Cheers!
