You can stick the transfer box from a disco in it. It raises the gearing.

Just to add, As you said the bumper is bent slightly which makes it worse to look at, and the body panels aren't allways perfectly straight adding to the impression that it leans more than it actually does. Get underneath and check the difference between the axles and the bump stops...

Yeah, Treworgeys right. Land Rover forgot to apply Loctite on the threads of the bolt that secures the oil pump in place. Over time it worked loose causing loss of oil pressure and engine failure. Don't worry though, if it hasn't come of by now it won't as it's probably been sorted...

Check the axle breathers, when you change the oil seal. Mine was blocked causing the seal to blow in the first place, if the breather's not cleared the seal will only go again when the axle oil heats up. Blow compressed air through it.

They are proper dogs :mad: Loving, caring, compassionate what more do you want. I'll admit they're not the best on intelligence and doing what they're told. But they love the Landy so at least they get something right.

Think you might have made up my mind. Is there a way of testing if the gasket is blown, as some people have said it's not the gasket, but not given any other explanation for the symptoms. Adsey

It comes back to what I was saying about learning to use the anti-stall. Try setting off in third high with no throttle, just bringing up the clutch gently and you'll have better results.

Your right, it says bores not heads. I thought de-glazing cylinder bores was a common thing, why can't one do this on a Td5 (so it's claimed)? As you said people do these things, just wondering why LR don't reccomend it. They produce overhaul manuals for all their other engines, why not...

Just trying to find out how far one can overhaul a Td5 engine. Why can they not be re-bored? Anyone know anything about this. Adsey
