i bought a new rear cross member from Paddock and mudflaps but the xmember is not "open" at the back so holes for bolts holding mudflaps on are not accessible.I have looked at others in car parks and all have easily accessible boltholes.Is there a special fixing im missing?

mine are held on with self drilling / tapping roofing screws.
been on there 2 years and abused horribly off road - they aint fallen off yet!

yes ther is a fixing.its like a sleeve with a threaded inner.you slip it in xmember and crimp it with a specialised tool.
