Water would trap in between the foam and the steel. With it being hollow it would have a chance of drying out.

I want to keep the engine in the ‘land rover v8 position’ to keep everything else stock. I know that standard exhaust manifolds wont fit because of the issue with the engine mounts but i was always planning on fabricating my own stainless ones anyway.

Ok, some photos to show the difference between the mounting positions of the v8 and 200tdiNearside Offside I will be modifying the mounting brackets on the v8 engine to pick up on the 200tdi positions on the chassis. (Dont want to cut the brackets off the chassis because its galvanised).
