My Freelander 2 keeps stopping I have tank out but it seems the pump in tank is not for pumping fuel to engine . Can anyone explain how it gets fuel from tank to engine
This is a quite large topic, but some things to check first.
- Can you hear the pump "priming" when you turn power on? It should cut off after a few seconds.
- Are all the fuses ok?

The fuel pump in the tank doesn't pump fuel to the engine.
The pump in the tank is there to pass fuel over the hump in the tank, where the propshaft cuts it in ½.
There is a lift pump in the HP fuel pump, which draws fuel up from the tank, same as any old Bosch sequential diesel pump did.
