Thanks for the helpful response Trench Rat. I'll give this a go on the weekend. Trust the USB setup will be somewhat the same in a LR and RR. The only difference between the two is one of these vehicles is used more for school pickups in urban areas and music videos.

I read online that in my 2012 RR Sport I should be able to charge one phone through the armrest USB port and use another for phone for music. Has anyone been successful in doing this? It does not work for me. Similar question for using one phone for phone calls and another phone for music.

I am also looking into this. I have a 2012 RR Sport and want to add CarPlay to it without replacing the headunit to an aftermarket one (Pioneer, Sony etc). It seems this cannot be done but I am hoping someone in here has a solution!

Yes iPhone XS (£1K) does not get signal behind the heated shield whereas our family iPhone 6 & 7's work fine!

All thanks for your input here. I wanted to confirm that by moving the phone into the RHS position the GPS works fine! As noted above, the heated windscreen does not go all the way to the RHS and this allows the signal through. (Shame the charger port isn't close-by though!) Kind regards
