Pulling a higher gear may actually impose more stress on the engine. a wider throttle opening needed to maintain speed, thus higher compression pressures. A lighter load and higher revs does no harm. The 2.76 diffs you say went with the 8 speed...
I go everywhere in mine lad. 6hrs to the off-road event every year, to blighty and even taken the old girl as far as italy and back👌😎
No range rover fear here girls🫵😜
Clearly you are the first person in history to use a Range Rover for a long journey. You should share your idea so that other people can now use such vehicles without worry too.....
When you say "it drops to entry height", do you mean it stays up overnight, and then drops to Access or Standard when you start the car ? If so it's not a valve block issue.
Nevermind, just got of the phone with Auto Sparks, the RHD harness is overall shorter. So I just ordered the last LHD drive one they had. My credit card hates me, the credit card company loves me.
What can I say , they are addictive to drive.
Just to rub salt in the wounds , I have no lights on the dashboard. ( And no I haven't removed the bulbs)
Don't forget it checks it's own height over the time it is locked.
If your parked on anything other than level ground it'll always try to even itself out. 👍
If I cannot find out the details of the o-ring (if that is the correct solution) then I will probably have to use the sealant. As it is not leaking massively at the moment I can give it some time to see if someone has the answer. I will also...
Ok so. you could buy a multipack of O rings and hope you have the right 1 but if not then measure it and put it back in with some sealant to tide you over.
Some gearbox/transefer box rebuilders on line show gasket sets which include O rings...
This info is a little confusing kiddo.
If your dropping the revs on the motorway, how are you running at higher revs as well?
One thing that will happen is an amount of extra strain on the rest of the transmission dealing with the extra pull...
No. If lpg isn't exactly right (hard to do on a modern log system on an old efi car) you can end up with very hot combustion temps.
Brave that it's your only wheels. Been there done that
Thankfully, I have never had anything to do with the V8 but I have always understood that the immobiliser for the V8 ECU's was a rolling code not a fixed code like the diesel is. The code is transmitted from the BECM on a serial line (K Line?)...
Why not just remove it and go to your friendly garage/motor factors and get a new O ring? Or measure it and get 1 online.
A bit of sealant probably wouldnt hurt, but then you are just doing similar to what you have just accused/complained about a...
I'd go for a dried cracked oring problem🤔
If they hadn't of replaced the oring it could have emptied itself and you'd be dealing with a dead transfer box reckon 😵
Why would it be the valve block? as it uses the same valves in any height.
It could be a leaky bag(or 2) that has a minor split that closes when in extended but opens in normal.
If you pull the relay under the passenger seat when you park it up...
Ah, no. They don’t look like they can be adjusted at all - at least, I’ve not seen anything that would suggest they can be. I ‘think’ they are heated though, but not tested that thought (or what makes me think that!!!)
