With all things considered I am tempted to see what my local specialist would charge to do the cam for me, while this will be expensive it's cheaper than a new engine or car.
Being new to working on engines this isn't something I want to get...
Yeah, one thing nobody in their right mibds want's me to do DIY is anything electrical. If you want it to work, not set anything on fire or kill you that is!
Good job my MY 2000 P38 is approaching 25,000 miles.
It finally feels like it is "loosening up" quite nicely.
Most problems are due to the rubber elements breaking down and failing.
I am perfectly happy with the performance and see no need for...
Emptied the interior yesterday and today, isolated the transmission tunnel, got the rear carpets in, the transmission tunnel carpet as well. Reinstalled the drawers in the back. Plugged two holes, one in the driver foot well and one in the roof...
Hi,
Whilst sorting through some minor issues with my 2003 L322 if had her parked up for a couple of weeks.
I got a shock when, after some really heavy rain, I found the mat and carpet in the drivers footwell completely soaked -not damp...
The rubber strip on the lower windscreen plastic is just a finishing strip. One problem is the drains at either end of the body work under the windscreen and beneath the plastic tray. These can get blocked with leaves and debris. The water level...
Okay, nevermind. I actually did find someone who does full RRC harnesses for LHD models, Autospark in the UK.
I'll give them a call tomorrow!
Those cars ARE money pits so...
That's a similar job to do when replacing the rear shocks if I remember correctly 🤔..
There is a couple of videos on YouTube that may clear that up for you. 🤔
That's a good point about any airbag warnings😵
Ok, today started well enough, getting everything out of the car for the caroet and soind deadening. Turned less good when I failed to remove the front prop shaft, no big deal so. The real downer was the indicator light so. Those don't work any...
Snap on is OBD2 your P38 isn’t. Few might clear the fault but it won’t tell you how to stop it coming back on.
You need a nanocom with the correct unlock code, test book t4 or a faultmate. If it’s stuffed a Hawkeye might do at a push, maybe?
No need to remove the dash. A long screwdriver and one duct to cut, easy peesy. as long as the screw is not corroded in. Use a S/S socket head screw when putting it back and a smear of silicone grease on the O rings.
I'm going through this at the moment, random traction abs lamps but 0 faults...
Beginning to think I've got corrosion on a plug somewhere as it just randomly comes and goes and under no particular circumstances 😵
