I ran a few 1.7 and 2.5 TDS BMWs with chips and bleed valves increasing the boost a bit for years with no issues. Granted the the RR is considerably weightier so more load on it etc!

Once the running and driving issues are sorted I’ll chip it and increase the boost a touch if I keep it.

This one is manual. I don’t think it’s much slower than it should be, if at all, because it runs quite well when driving. Is there a specific diagnostics available cheaply if a generic Snap-On scanner isn’t accurate? For example I have had INPA BMW diagnostics for circa £30. Ah thought that might be the case. Couldn’t remember my old TDS BMW having glow plugs when warm.
