i spoke to a guy that mentioned that cos the oil an water is mixing then its not the head gasket but something in the engine cracked...? cant remember wot he said tho... :/

when it rains it pours! :( alternator only giving out 11.7 on idle and hit a pot hole last nite and the batt started to drain. think it may need a n new alternator also while looking noticed there cream foam in engine an moisture coming from exhaust. so told it needsa a new head gasket...

Does any1 know which starter motor will also fit my 98 freelander 1.8. I know that some rover engine motors will fit. Also one I was offered, is from a rover but looks different from wots already on. :/

was raining today an got caught up wit work so will have to do all this tomoz. i got another car to jump start it case the batts flat so hopefully all goes well. thanks for the input and fingers crossed! :D

i think i read ur post previously b4 lookin at starter as i checked the ignition, immobilizer, and switch as u said! all was good :D think in the morning i'll give it another check over the starter an get the sandpaper out for the conneector. pos c bout a replacement as well. an its a RED...

lol it was after disconnecting the starter connections an was prior to removing starter. i was putting it back together when i noticed it an thot it may of been something i forgot bout... :o

p.s i can hear the switches clicking in side and under hood when turned to pos. 3

the colour of? it jus happened one morning. so thot it was immobilizer but tested it an ignition cable to starter was receiving voltage. so cleaned it. and started to strip out when i connected batt to it, then it started. put back together and it turned. but didnt fire. so think it may be 2...

Hey guys, having some issues wit my starter. i cleaned the connectors an it started to turn over again but now has stopped. i check the batt an the volt sits at 11.75 and drops to around 11.50 when ignition is full turned. so not sure if that would restrict the starter from turning completely or...

after diggin round and trying to solve my no start prob i noticed this black hose. any1 no wot this is for? and if its supposed to b disconnected? lol
