The P38 hasn't got stupid "cut power" TC, I don't see why you'd want to defeat it.
The mix of TC and ABS has caused me to lose all drive when going up an icy hill because it spazzed out due to the loss of traction and stuck on the brakes. Yet going up the same hill in a Hilux Surf was no bother as the places where TC put the brakes on in my RR, the Surf just span a bit until the next bit of grippy tarmac. Although I will raise my hands as I noticed shortly after that my tyres had become illegal, so that probably wasn't helping. But the only way around the issue was to treat my RR like a softroader and throw speed at the problem.

As I said, the traction is amazing, but with TC and ABS there is no easy way of judging the grip levels, TC does nothing when you are slowing down and ABS is a liability in snow. In my other 4 x 4's it was easy to judge grip levels by judicious use of the throttle or brakes, totaly impossible in the P38. With the Galloper I removed the ABS and it would stop quicker in pretty much all conditions.

no tc on my dt spec p38 and 4 chunky mud's fitted should do the trick works well in the muddy forest
