My registration doc shows the vehicle desription as Van when it clearly is not, this I believe to be a re-import, where, using the VIN can I get authentication of the vehicles original spec

Aren't the 3 doors classed as vans or at least commercials... there was one on the farm recently that was a 3 door but someone had put windows in the back end....

3 door is a van as fas as I'm aware, my 109 Hi-Cap is an estate on the V5

my Disco is a 3-door (was an M plate when registered in England) and it is labeled as Estate on the English documents

But you imported it then ? if a home model its possibly different.

My estate recognition is only due to the wheelbase so the van may have been the same idea

no, it was an English car, registered in the UK from 1995 to 2009

I bought it there and imported it myself into France, but it was described as "Body:Estate" and "Taxation class: private/light goods" on the original DVLA certificate

Estate refers to the wheelbase not the body type though as far as I'm aware,

Now if his disco is actually a 3 door then it should be a van if it on the other hand is a 3 door station wagon then it should be down as an estate but really it depends on who modded it and if they were bothered to update
