hi

turns out not far from me someone is selling a complete propshaft ,with vcu etc for a very reasonable price (less than 50 ) they say it works fine and has come of a catc car

but i have a 2002 td4 and its off a 2002 1.8 petrol model ,will this still fit mine?

im thinking its worth the risk but what do you guys think?

Don't know about the propshaft but the VCU should be fine (Assuming it's ok of course!)

my prop its self is fine its the vcu im after and at the price im thinking its worth a shot

You would save £150 if the VCU is ok but lose a lot more if it's goosed. I wouldn't take a chance on such a part knowing the trail of destruction it can cause, but if you buy it you know the chance you are taking so its up to you Good luck

I think they are all the same except the V6.
Someone more knowledgable will confirm though.

All 4 cylinder engines use the same propshafts and VCU.
The V6 uses a different length front propshaft and a different VCU.
Test the VCU before fitting it. If it's goosed, send it to Bell for reconditioning.

well if i do manage to get it i would def do the vcu test on it and if found suspect i would just send it for recon as for front part of prop yes i would have a spare

well i won it in the end so fingers crossed the vcu is ok like he says lol as thats all i want to be honest

i will fit it and do the tests and see how i get on :) if its good its a bonus ,i paid more than i want to in the end it cost me around £75 but if vcu is goosed i can send both to bells ( he might do me a deal if i send two and only want one back lol) and i can sell the prop on if needs be
