done the rear brakes today and noticed driver side tyre worn down on the inside but not the outside any ideas why one side of a tyre would ware out leaving the other half perfectly ok.:confused:thanks
 
On the rear axle, which type of disco do you have?
not to much possibilties to adjust a solid axle!
 
How about bottom link bushes changed on one side and not the other... new bush being less compressed than the old putting axle out of true?
 
Especially the rare 2.4l Discos are well known for funny things happening to the rear axle!:D

I`d agree with goonarmy, that tire has not always been on your rear axle.

Worth taking a good look how the other 3 are worn.

Heres a thought.

considering that you have had the vehicle for a year and not noticed any uneven wear rates on the other three wheels, it may be possable that you have a bent pickup point or hub carrier, hence the funny wear rates.

I bent something on mine clipping a curb driving with enthusiasm in the snow. It's left a serious amount of posative camber on my N/S/R. With the vehicle parked on a level surface, and with all tyre pressures ok, take a look at how it sits from the rear.
 
Any chance you've had a wheel swapped without you knowing it?

Otherwise, to damage the tread that much, you'd need the wheel on that side to be dragging behind the n/s wheel by a fair bit, and that's about the only thing that would cause it, so check the axle locating (radius arms) links first

It is a 2.5 diesel? 2.4's are a bit rare as has been said :)

Also worth checking the Anti-roll bar link hasn't 'flipped' on one side .. but that lowers one side so much it's very noticeable that something's wrong.
 
when looking at landy from the back on a level surface,drivers side looks to be lower down than the other side.about three inches measuring from top of tyre to top inside wheel arch but i thought that it could be dodgy spring or shock wich ive been meaning to change.maybe its a bigger problem than i first thought.
