I've booked a week off work to mess about with the landy.

I feel like I need some sort of battle plan to maximise my efficiency which I would appreciate yours guys help with.

So here's the situation:

  • Recently bought this vehicle - bought first landy I saw (stupid I know)
  • There's an issue somewhere along the drivetrain which causes loud clunking noise as stated in other fred. I suspect it is transfer box.
  • Diff won't lock at all.
  • Clutch is extremely stiff
  • Underside of landy seems to be permanently wet in a couple of places. looks like oil.
  • Seems like a lot of bushes are worn. I can see ones in track rods and UJs are gone.
  • Reverse light doesn't work (new bulb).
  • Brakes are a bit squeaky.
  • PTO winch is attached but PTO prop looks like its made from rust.
  • Passenger seat keeps falling forward
  • MOT due in December
  • I am a novice but have your average toolset
So where do I start?

Thanks

transfer box a good starting point !!!
diff lock will go in if you run engine in neutral and try to put in light may not come on but it could be in also this could cause your clunking so check the diff lock goes back into neutral !!!
get some poly bushes if they need changing
as for winch upto you clean, wire brush and hamerite it or take off
alot of lanys have oil leaks so clean off on under side and engine with gunk and check after may see oil leak ( but if not it will not rust lol)
clutch could be lack off use or cylinders
seat just bolt it in ( take the centre plate out in between the seats ) makes it easy to do !!
hope this helps
