has anyone fit them?picked up one off boot sale for a quid, tested it and works.
do you wire it to reverse lights? and where is best to put wire through?:boink:

No not to reverse lights otherwise they only work when you have reverse selected and ign on . You need to run wires from front to rear and from dash operating switch , used fused supply and must have warning light HTSH

iv got 2 above rear door on my hard top 90 wired front to back with switch and warning light on dash and a switch just inside door,1 of the best mods iv done!

I currently have one wired to reverse but am having another one wired seperately to a dash switch.

At MOT time can I suggest you whip the bulb out of the one connected to your reverse. Reversing lights are covered but work lights aren't.

you sure reverse lights are covered, ive had a few motors with them not working, and passed, in fact my fender passed in july without them, (new switch on the dash)

As far as I am aware they are if they are fitted at the time of the test

They are not a testable item, fitted, not fitted, working, not working don't matter, only time it could be an issue is if it's stuck on as you aren't allowed to show white light at the back, when not in reverse!

Work lights aren't a testable item either! As long as they aren't a danger to pedestrians and you can turn them off, they aren't checked even if wired to reverse cos you don't check reverse!

me fender had a switch fitted so it cam on with internal lights if it were switched on. meant ya need the back door open though.

I would bet all my motors that work lights\reverse lights are not part of the mot test for class 4 vehicles (I've been tester for 13 years btw)

Mine's a class 7 (110 hard top.) Had it mot'd last week and my reverse wired work light was never mentioned.

I'm about to put some on mine, i was intending on wiring them so they came on with the reverse and can also be separately switched from the boot and from the dash.

Got two on the back of mine. One is in a fixed position, has a wide-beam and comes on from the dash switch, and the other is fully adjustable, powered from the dash switch through a local switch on the back of the lamp.

Best of both worlds!
