outside looks terrible but inside looks quite solid. - in engine bay , behind dash . nip it in the bud now i reckon

door pillars , top corners and some sheet - cut out the rot on the footwell , and probably under the window seal along the window channel i reckon - its rotten the first 5/6 cms for sure. not as bad as some ive seen repaired :)

go on ruin my day :) tell me im wrong and its fecked

compared to some ive seen thats like new ;)

if you've got the bits and are capable of fitting/welding them then give it a go :)

At least the radio looks like it works... no cd player eh? :) I have just had the opposite.... Putting new hinges on mine today my bulkhead is perfect... a torch peeking inside, not a mark. Behind the door cards the doors are sealed with polythene and what looks like a bead Tiger seal. I am amazed... bottom corner of front door has a touch of rust.... rust killer and painted, job done. Cant believe my luck

Inspired - absorbs water! Only kidding:D

Seen plenty worse looking - from pics looks like it can be saved

Have found repairs based on dubious materials eg wood 2x2 chassis rails, expanding foam sills, news paper pillars, popriveted in plastic footwells, not come accros sponge though the mind boggles.

didnt get as far as i hoped today - all ill say is thank **** for ratchet spanners ! some of them bolts for the wing are a chuffing git ! then grinding out and drilling the bolts that didnt snap and the hinge bolts

now its pishing down !

are you taking the whole dash off? i really need to take all of my dash off, but it looks like a nightmare!

my rust is the same as yours arround the vent holes.

i dont think its that bad , got most of it off already

just got the main section to come off , tis pretty modular - top comes off , the heater controls come off the end , take off the screws on the plastic lip , lift off the top

take out the binicale and remove the wiring (marking up what goes where)

radio out and hunt out about 10 screws into bulkhead
4 screws remove the stuff round the foot wells - not sticking that ****e back in - basically cardboard :D

had a good route around today with a hammer and screw driver , going to replace most of the footwell also , the side panel of footwell (to give me a good lip for the door seal and up to the bottom 2 folds of the foot well , dont really want to take out the clutch and brake cylinders - would rather seam weld in these repairs - that says it all really .... so waiting on a foot well panel

found out my outrigger on this side is pretty fooked across the top , its been patched across the front before ! - thinking ill just weld her up for now. - pretty sure ill end up with a galvy chassis and bulkhead once ive got a house sorted out (that is a hoose o my ain and no this rental thing)

the other side is worse , behind the dash speaker is ****ed above where the footwell meets behind the dash. nowt a bit o sheet cant sort out !

best speak to my neighbour also - hes my landlord :D - and the only house for a couple miles or so

hopefully they are going away in may as i have a fair bit o work to do.

didnt feel bad grinding **** in winter as we both have good double glazing but now its summer and with windaes are open .... grinders very noisy despite my hoose being in the way.

couple hours - did it friday night

spent longer getting the front wing off !

work to be done but i like living here ;) ill go speak to them

fair play, less aggro! ahh i may aswel take mine off then.. for some reason thought itd be horrible to do.

Somehow suspect that putting back will be harder than taking apart - especially if the electrics decide to play games:D

i suspect that too

ave marked all connections with masking tape with name on ....

its all just hanging there - some interesting cabling features to say the least - namely 3 green toggle switches - wired into nothing ! - with a cable i wouldnt use to tie up an ivy to trellis !

all features worked before removing - so at least any problems will be issues ive caused :D

Labelling the wires was a smart idea

When i had my dash apart last month, found loads of wires and connectors connected to nothing - guess the loom is multi purpose, so some wires may have been for things I just don't have (heated rear window, rear windscreen wiper etc)

It's amazing how the tiniest bit of corrosion - almost invisible to the eye - buggers things up.

I lost ALL my warning lights on reassembly - a couple of frustrating hours later traced it to the copper contacts that the bulb holders secure against being a little grubby - but they were working just fine when I took it apart!

You might want to invest in one of these if you haven't already

I've found it really useful in tracing faults, and putting power through circuits to test

and on the bright side, buying now might act as an insurance policy and you'll never need to use it - here's hoping:)

looks like a good bit o kit - ill wait n see if i need it first - like everything landy related this is growing arms and legs - already got a multimeter so will give that a go first !

was just the bulkhead - now its footwell and outrigger while im at it !

need new captive nuts and bolts for holding my wing to the bulkhead - been through 47 pages of lrseries and cant find what i want. the old ones are beyond saving !

No worries - wasn't being ****y - honest!

I just find it easier to google search by part number rather than part name - no idea why - just seems to find things easier!
