ok so i went to my defender this morning and when i went to start it...there was nothing. battery and oil light is on n then when i turn the key glow plug light comes on and just as you would expect for it to start ticking over the (!)brake light comes on and then nothing.You can hear the relays click but nothing and i checked them and all 3 seemed to be ok. Any other ideas of what it could be ?

give the wire to the starter solenoid a wiggle. Probably just bad connection.

what engine is it?

is the immobiliser light going out?

its a 200tdi
and yes it goes out when i unlock it

Had summit very similar when ah did me bulkhead, try checkin' this wire....

see if it has come loose or needs a clean

Stuck starter motor? Stick her in gear, release the handbrake and rock her forward and back a couple of times and try the key again.

ended up bumping it in the end lool starts up fine now but (!)brake light is still coming on when i turn the key to full:S
