Hiya

just new here tonight and unsure the best place to post a problem am having

I have a landrover freelander2 td4 2007 model and a few weeks ago while driving on motorway got a reduced engine performance error message before cutting out completely
once towed discovered that the fuel pump was broken and in turn cam shaft had snapped like many of the posts i have just read online - my mechanic has replaced the high pressure fuel pump and cam shaft and has managed to recover all broken pieces from inside the engine - however it still wont start
when connected to diagnostic no error codes are showing at all - have checked injectors, camshaft sensor and fuel pressure is building to an average of 30,000kpa on the rail whilst cranking but still wont start

anyone got any ideas at all where i should post this for the best reponse - at my wits end with it and running up large labour costs trying to get repaired

thanks in advance for your help

Just had same on my FLander 2 2007 , M1 outside lane engine cut out, piggy back to main dealer, camshaft and fuel pump merged as one = circa £2.7k for fix, we have agreed a trade in, my milage is 104500, is this a trend ????

When I spoke to someone Sept last year. In the UK there was 20 cases recorded by LR, I'm not sure about unreported cases.

This issue was more common in the north of England than the south by a long proportion. It was put down to differing fuel qualities apparently.

I know in foreign markets (non uk), where fuel was likely to contain a higher percentage of contaminates the cases were a lot higher.

LR also released limited stock high durability HP pump, which people could buy.

This was a while ago now though.
