hi guys,looking for some help,itake it that there should be no movement on the hub when atached to axle,i can move it back an forward,so there must be something gone ,has anybody had same problem,and also will the hub from a disco fit it ,as p38s are like hens teeth in my area cheers pat.

Sounds like the wheel bearing has gone.

does the hub move from from side to side when you hold it at 3 and nine oclock if so probably a wheel bairing or front to bacck when held at 12 and 6 oclock then it may be the swivle bairing if that is the case it may just need packing out

cheers guys,so it looks like i need a new hub,nobody answered question about if the disco hub will fit,cheers pat

Not sure why you need a new hub?? bearing are about a tenner and even if the whole swivel assembly needs replacing you're looking at around £60 for everything

Front bearing on p38 are £80 ish and a large press job try doing a search its been coverd on here before, not sure about disco hubs maybe td5 disco similar.

FFS I think I'll stick to me defender. Nowt like been bent over and arse fooked by the dealer is there???

And there are times when I wish I still had the classic when it comes to buying parts, that was BRT price dont like to think what main dealer would have been.
