Hello everyone.
Im new to the whole landrover thing but so far loving it!
Ive got a problem with my 98 300tdi juddering/wobbling, its when i drive over manholes, pot holes or any uneven section of road. Its at anything over 30mph and worse the faster i go. The whole vehicles shimmys and the steering wheel goes side to side really quickly, it soon stops but is a bit unnerving.
Also when i turn the wheel lock to lock it makes a real groaning noise but not like the fluid is low, its alot louder.
Could these two be related?
Ive replaced the pads and discs, it has new track rod ends, ive done the swivel shims and the wheel bearings are fine.
Any ideas are much appreciated!
Thanks

put steering box in the middle and check for freeplay by rocking input shaft to steering box by hand ,check drop arm ball joint ,all bushes and steering damper

Have u checked your steering damper? simple things first and the it gets more involved.

Thanks for the replies. Ive checked all over the steering pump and the bushes, cant find any play there. How do i check the damper?

Do a search, recently discussed with good link to thread on all aspects of wheel wobble including the cursed swivel preload thing.

Thanks for all the advice. Next question is... Is there a good damper to go for ie de carbon, pro comp, gaz, bilstein, britpart etc etc. There seems to be loads
