Morning,

The wipers have been like this for a while and I thought it time to look into it,

Wipers work, however its a bit of guess work when they come to stop,

You can get them to stop near the bottom by using the upward controls (I havent had my morning brew yet and my brain isnt functioning correctly)

Where as the down ward control has a life of its own and its anyone's guess where they will rest,

Could it be a faulty relay ?

Vehicle in question is a 97 300tdi Defender 90,

Cheers for any replies,

How frequently do these blow ?

Also where is it located, fuse box or do I have to remove parts of the dash ?

It is fixed onto the side of the wiper motor so a little bit of dash out, it is just a switch, so yeah they go wrong!

Think I might get two, Paddock Spares sell them for £4, might tag those on to my next order,

Add thanks !

My intermittent function doesn't work at all. They just keep going and can also be abit of an art to get them to stop at the bottom, I assume this is the park switch too?

Or do I just need a new motor

left hand side trim off with speaker in, switch has 3 spade connectors and a plug, it fixed my park issue and intermittent

I also greased where the switches pin goes and the connectors as they had been damp

New park motor from Paddock spares appears to be a Britpart model, now theres no off

Wired up in the same way the old one is,

Ideas other than throw the britpart reject away ?

I had a "No off" fault during the week because the intermittent wiper relay was full of water! Emptied it and dried it out and it now works correctly.

I have the issue that when the windscreen is just damp the wipers don't reach the bottom and sometimes they go a little too far upwards or on occasion downwards......

managed to get hold of a Lucas switch, hoping it actually works better than the Britpart one

I've had no end of issues with britpart parts already! Not sure what part is dodgy on my wipers, likely the cable I suppose or maybe the switch. Switch is cheap and a quick easy swop so likely do that first. I've just fitted the wiper motor from an L200 in the Safari rear door :D Just waiting for a series wiper arm to spindle adapter to see if that makes it compatible with standard landrover wiper arm.....

I've used britpart for a few things, Mainly trim ie seats & cubby box which all needed some persuasion and creative thinking,

Top tip use high strength velcro to attach the cubby box to the steel inspection plate, allows easy access to the screws !

I bought all brit part parts to finish my new doors i.e. handles, inner mechanism, plastic surrounds etc etc - They have been ok but I bought two rear indicators and one just didn't work so I had to use the rear part of the original one.... They'll do till the new year when I replace all the lights with LED ones.
