So our winter season is starting in The Bahamas and now that I have a soft top im gonna go topless for a few months.
Then I thinks, wouldnt it be nice to fold the windshield forward ?

So what is involved in installing the hinges and is it recommended?

If you've got a fender then the hinges are already there, its what pretty much holds the windscreen on. I will admit to never having folded mine down but I think its just a case of loosening the nuts on the inside at left and right and it should fold forward

Aren't most solid pieces that look hinge like? other wise i think its just a case of swapping the solid ones for hinged ones and possibly having an issue with the wipers but cant think of the layout.

The wipers are attached to the bulkhead and I suppose the arms could just be taken off, its a two second job. I'll take a pic of mine later and show you, as far as I'm aware they all have hinges as standard though i know you can buy some solid aftermarket lookalikes

Wind screen down....= great fun, but soon loses the novelty when you feel like your asphyxiating at anything above 25 mph!!

Yeah tried mine this summer with the windscreen down, got fed up after a couple of miles

However it is definitely worth taking doortops off if you can and all the hood sticks so you just have a windscreen and rollbar. Looks ace

3 bolts either side to change to older hinge type

screen down is the way to go, my lightweight was screen down n doors off from april to November.... although frozen eyeballs on a cold November morning round the m25 was unpleasant lol

Hinges were fitted to earlier models but for many years now solid brackets have been the norm.
If buying hinges make sure you get the internal clamps as well as it is them that keep the screen upright if the door surrounds have been removed.
Wiper arms can either be removed (2-seconds) or just moved out of the way as the screen is lowered.
