Hi all, does anyone have a lead on where I can get some plastic windscreen trim clips, I have tried all of the usuals to see if there are any available. Apparently LR stopped producing them a while back and they are now scarce. The part number is BTR4428, alternatively has anyone come up with something that will take their place. Many thanks

I tried them, along with about 20 others and none have stock nor will have as LR stopped making them. I was wondering if the same clip may have been used on a different manufacturer, seems daft to have only produced them for the p38.......

did they all break or stay stuck in the metal work?
I managed to get mine off the the car with long nose pliers by squeezing the little wings in and sliding them back into the trim and positioning them when I refitted it into position. but if they're broken... You could try dollops of silicone and masking tape to hold it in place while it dries... Not a great solution but if you have no choice:eek:

Some have snapped and some have been deformed, it appears that someone had a go at fixing the windscreen leak and didn't know how to pop the clips back. I have ordered all of the other clips and screws as most had rusted out, only these little sods are not available

Have you tried Rimmer Bros - I think I have had some from them in the past. I got my screws from B & Q as the originals looked like they had held ornaments on the Titanic. Rusty was an understatement.

I looked at buying a used one but as you say, rather pricey for just the little clips, going to pop into Halfords and see if they have something I can modify to do the job. There must be another vehicle that uses a similar part, mind you, it is a P38 so maybe not ;)
All of the suppliers (Rimmers, P38 spares, Island to mention a few) have no stock and are not expecting to get any more because they are no longer making them.

Hey Wazza, how was the holiday? Are you back home now, I am expecting a remanufactured BECM to arrive tomorrow. I must say that Rick-the Pick is a top class chap. Hopefully the old girl will be back to her normal reliable self ;) (Hmm, reliable, now there is a word that doesn't befit a P38)

Holiday was great despite a couple of days of atrocious weather. I've never dealt with Rick personally but the heaps of praise I've seen for him on here speaks volumes.
To be fair, touch wood, mines been pretty reliable. I broke one of the height sensors yesterday trying to "tweak" it a bit so it's now held on with a tywrap. Works OK until I go round a long right hand bend then it goes out of range and throws an error up. 4 new ones on the way so that's Thursday's job if I can get the bolts out!
