hello help! I have a problem. water in footwell while back so ripped out the carpet and form underlay binned was soaking wet and rotted. and there was slight hole in the footwell by the curve so patched that up. thought tht was the cause of water coming in. hole is patched up and sealed and all okay and did a test. not driving and heavy rain ****ing down and next morning checked the driver footwell along the rim and yes water everyway it is the windscreen seals? or the door?? it is right by the column toward the roof. at the bottom. any ideas?
TAffy!!

more than likely the windscreen seal..

check to see if its cracked or lifted in the top corner if it is then use some sillicnut sealent or window seal in the crack and under the lip edge you may want to use a gclamp and some rags to hold pressure on it while it set's thou.

mine used to leak in this spot untill i replaced the whole screen but that was what i was going to do before i lost my temper and needed a whole screen ;)

okay I see a small hole at the top corner and filled that with sealand but no different. I notice the seal has serveal cracks and etc all over do i need to replace? if so it is easy to replace using rope etc??

tbh a new seal is around 115 quid plus so its wether you want to spend that when a few hours with a hose and a sealent gun will do the same ??

as for removing and replacing i did mine in about half hour there was two of us with speciest tool's(two bent knife's and soapy water) so not a big job..you may however crack your screen getting it out as it's a lot easier to crack one from the inside than out.

crack u mean smash the windscreen?? means if it does that is a new windscrree as well from scrapyard??

yeh ah mean smash..

but it will more likely spider crack if you put too much pressure on the inside, and remember this will most likely be the origonal fitted screen so its been in there how ever many years collecting crap and gunk the whole time so may need a little more pressure than the screen will accept.

good grief!! easier to make a crack or summat like that and get autogalss to replace screen and seal!!

thats one way round the problem but if you intend to pay for the job expect a nice price(around 450 fitted), unless your going to use your insurence but then it may effect your premium's/ncbs next year.

a question I seem can't understand why windscreen has to be cracked to get it out. if the seal is cutted up and ease out should aable to get the windscreen out without breaking?? at the end of day it points down to money innst
